Sailing and Swimming Lessons at EYC

Summers just around the corner, and you know what that means! Another fun summer at the EYC!

This summer we are switching things up a bit and offering 2 types of camp! The first type is for kids 5-10 who are just starting sailing, but also want to kayak, swim, arts and crafts as well as all the games and adventures that make our camp fun! Each week will have a different focus and theme so you get variety and lots of fun! This program will be under the ever fabulous instruction of Alex Parsons and Madi Worst.

The second type we are running this year is the sailing enthusiast camp. This camp is for the campers who have reached the level of white sail 2 want to progress through the levels and learn how to race. For those of you who love to sail this is your place to be! As well as going to regattas sailing enthusiasts campers will be able to sail the 29'er, a new and ultra-fast and ultra-fun skiff boat!

This summer we are glad to welcome our new Bronze sail instructor and Head of Sailing, Jay Liebner, from the Rondeau Yacht Club! Welcome to the good side Jay!

And as always, swimming lessons will be available all summer, from the  amazing duo of Val Kirkland and Ali Rankin-Nash!

This year we are also offering discounted programs for those of you that choose to be with us the whole summer! What can be better than spending your whole summer playing in the sun in Erieau! The 'Summer of Fun' deal takes into account that you will be with us for the entire summer. We even have incentives for every child after the third!

This new type of camp is now offered for children between the ages of 5-10. It incorporates the best of our old full day camp with new aspects. A typical day includes swimming lesson and
1 of hour sailing in the morning and the afternoon. Kids will also participate in Kayaking, Nature walks, crafts, games and activities. This camp is best for kids who are just getting into sailing, and focuses on comfort, safety and fun.

We offer two types of full day sailing. The first, “Sailing enthusiasts” is for youth over the age of 10, with previous sailing experience who would like to further develop their sailing skills and knowledge base. These programs are recommended for youth interested in racing skills and strategies.
The second Full day of sailing camp is “Advanced Camp”. This consists of Bronze sail IV- Silver Sail VI, which is skills intensive and usually requires multiple summers to complete. 8 weeks minimum to complete bronze and silver sail levels.
This group also attends a variety of regattas throughout the summer, students will be asked to participate based on the instructors’ evaluation.

As always, sailing will be offered for half days either morning or afternoon which consists of a three hour lesson involving both water and theory components. Please circle that option on the bottom of the form attached.
